Jie Ren

I work on compiler and systems research for efficient, reliable, and practical computing. My recent work focuses on compiler and program optimisation, binary analysis and decompilation, efficient large language model inference and training, and mobile or edge AI systems. I am particularly interested in building working systems that combine program analysis, machine learning, and systems techniques to improve performance in real deployment settings.

Research interests

Compiler and program optimisation: LLVM-based optimisation, auto-tuning, cross-platform performance portability, and AI-assisted compilers.
Binary analysis and decompilation: lifting optimised binaries to compiler IR, program understanding, and LLM-assisted reverse engineering.
Efficient AI systems: low-latency LLM inference, lightweight training, and edge or mobile deployment.
Mobile and edge computing: performance, energy efficiency, and system support for intelligent applications.
